Overview

Responsible for ensuring full compliance with the corporate safety program and how the safety program is set up, executed, and maintain on the jobsite. The Senior Safety Manager is expected to be a key member in support of the safety professionals on their assigned jobsites. This position will ensure documentation and training are all properly maintained and functioning at a high level on their assigned projects.

The Senior Safety Manager represents the corporate safety department in the field and is forward facing to our clients, external customers, and peers. This position must maintain a high level of integrity, and professionalism in all their duties while acting as the primary technical and leadership resource to our field safety professionals.

Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for the execution of the company’s safety processes and programs on projects
• Constantly emphasize involvement in the company safety process from all levels of management and craft
• Promote excellent safety leadership at all levels of our organization
• Set exemplary standards of ethics and stewardship of the company’s resources, support the company’s safety philosophy, practice and goals, function as a team player and maintain excellent communication within the Safety Department
• Assure that all projects have all required elements of the safety program in place including a written site safety plan, ERP’s, heat and cold plans as appropriate and startup checklist at the outset of the project. Develop or assist in development of the plans and review all such plans for completeness. Ensure all plans include any client or local expectations.
• Assist the onsite safety team in the establishment of the safety program, including medical arrangements and an injury management plan
• Maintain frequent, effective communication with client representatives
• Facilitate regulatory visits and provide support for projects during regulatory inquiries and document requests
• Assist in the management of emergencies or events requiring a higher-level response
• Review, approve and assist the company supervision in implementing corrective actions
• Evaluate field safety programs, provide leadership recommendations for changes
• Drive consistency in our safety program across all projects
• Participate in tactical planning and support of corporate safety initiatives
