- Community Care

The VA Midwest Health Care Network advocates for a Whole Health System of care in each of the Medical Centers. This is an approach to healthcare that empowers and equips people to take charge of their health and well-being and live their lives to the fullest. As an employee operating in a Whole Health System of care, you will operate in a model with three core elements, seeking to create a personalized health plan for each Veteran.

This is done in the context of healing relationships and healing environments and a connection back to the Veteran's community. This aligns with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Mission Statement to Honor America's Veterans by providing exceptional health care that improves their health and well-being. The Staff Dentist
- Community Care should be proficient in all aspects of general dentistry, with the ability to perform selected specialty services as needed. This role requires expertise to evaluate comprehensive treatment plans and recommend the most appropriate course of care for our Veterans.

Duties include:

  • Maintain and uphold policies and procedures that direct and support the delivery of dental services.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance the effectiveness and quality of Community Care dental services.
  • Oversee and maintain appropriate quality control programs.
  • Provide orientation and ongoing education to all personnel involved in the Community Care dental program.
  • Review, implement, and follow through on recommendations from Dental Chief, Fargo VA leadership, VISN 23, and Office of Dentistry committees and consultants.
  • Maintain regular communication and collaboration with leadership, clinical staff, and administrative teams through scheduled meetings and reports, as assigned by the Dental Chief.
  • Diagnose oral pathology and other dental conditions.
  • Collaborate with community dentists to review, approve, or deny proposed treatment plans.
  • 30 RFS must be entered daily to meet performance standards.
  • Ensure all urgent dental care requests are entered on the same day they are received.
  • Respond to PATS, White House, Congressional, and patient complaints within 48 hours.
  • Demonstrate courtesy, respect, and a positive attitude toward patients, colleagues, and the public.
  • Provides assistance to customers with questions or concerns, provides service recovery

Work Schedule:

Monday
- Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm.
