Salary: $50,000- $55,000

Hours:
Twelve-month position, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and other times to reach agency goals or job duties.
Decision Making Authority: Responsible for best interests of the South East Education Cooperative SEEC given what has been budgeted and carefully utilizes funding to achieve expected goals. Approval required from Director of Student Services (or assigned designee) on specific matters as outlined in policies and procedures.
Position OverviewThe Building Quality Coach (BQ) is the external coach that provides technical supervision and coaching support to early childhood providers and center staff to improve the quality of programming within the 8 human service regions. This role involves coaching and modeling evidence-based and best practices in early childhood content. Supports the overall goals, objectives, and strategies of the SEEC.
SignificantJob Duties
- Technical Assistance and Coaching Support:
Support the implementation of evidence-based Building Quality Initiatives (for example SEEDS of Early Learning for 3-5 Year Olds, SEEDS for Infant & Toddlers, SEEDS for Family Child Care, Pyramid Model, math and science skills, etc.), that prepare early childhood educators to develop social, emotional, language and literacy skills. - Complete classroom/program observations, coaching, and assist with collecting data to offer recommendations for continuous improvement focusing on health and safety, child development, social and emotional, literacy and numeracy, and supportive environments.
- Assist providers/programs to develop SMART goals and supports to make progress and achieve goals. Provide feedback, time for reflection, and promote goal setting.
- Support site development of data-based decision-making skills by working with providers to understand current student and environmental assessment practices and needs to offer recommendations on data collection and progress monitoring.
- Create supporting resources such as fidelity checklists based on licensing and early childhood standards.
- Collaborate with other CCA staff to communicate about areas of improvement and professional development needs based on observation data.
- Consult with center staff on early childhood instruction, assessment and intervention, including the ability to model, observe and provide corrective feedback, ask questions to solve challenges, exercise sound judgment, and communicate effectively with individuals, teams and providers.
- Audit, develop and facilitate other identified trainings to support child care programs and providers across the state.
Responsibilities (Sustain Long Term Viability and Growth):
In conjunction with the Director of Student Services, review current programs and identify potential opportunities that align to the agency's strategic goals.
- Build and expand own knowledge through a variety of professional development activities, including webinars, training classes, special certifications and other professional development activities.
- BS or BA in Early Childhood Education or Child Development or related field with at least 24 semester credits in Early Childhood Education, or a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a non-related field with at least 24 semester credits in Early Childhood Education plus a valid ND Teaching License in PreK-K or K-3.
- Currently holds or will obtain within first 30 days of employment the ND Growing Futures Building Quality Coach endorsement.
- Experience facilitating adult learners through training, coaching, supervision and observation.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for effectively communicating and problem-solving with the early childhood field.
