Position

Purpose:

The Special Education Instructional Coach is an experienced, highly-trained educator who partners with teachers and staff to strengthen instructional and behavioral practices that improve outcomes for students with disabilities. The primary indicator of success is student growth and achievement, with a focus on closing the achievement gap and ensuring equitable access to learning opportunities. Through modeling, feedback, and collaborative planning, the coach strengthens teacher capacity and instructional expertise.

This support accelerates learning for all students while promoting inclusive classroom practices that ensure access and success for diverse learners.

Responsibilities:

* Instructional Coach:
Provides individualized guidance, feedback, and reflection to improve instructional quality for students with disabilities. This includes mentoring new teachers, co-planning, modeling, co-teaching, observing classroom practices, and facilitating professional development.

* Curriculum Coach:
Supports teachers in aligning instructional practices with curriculum standards, IEP goals, and district expectations. This includes helping teachers set learning goals, plan differentiated lessons, and implement evidence-based practices that meet the needs of diverse learners.

* Data Coach:
Helps teachers analyze student achievement data and progress monitoring results to inform instruction and align with IEP goals. They support staff in identifying instructional priorities, selecting interventions, and evaluating instructional impact.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor of Arts degree

* Valid ND Teaching License

* A minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience, with at least three years of experience in special education.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Ability to interpret and analyze data

* Ability to create and present effective presentations

* Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a variety of audiences and individuals

* Ability to use technology

* Ability to work effectively as part of a team

* Ability to maintain the confidentiality of schools, teachers and classrooms

* Experience in using assessment results to guide instruction

* Knowledge of research and best practices in instructional design and differentiating instruction
