Schedule9-month Professional Teacher Contract Salary Range From $47,393.00 to $91,468.00 annually

Position

Purpose:

The Agriculture Education Teacher & Pathway Activator provides high-quality instruction in Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources pathways while building strong connections between students, schools, and the agricultural community. This position is split equally between classroom instruction (50%) and pathway activation responsibilities (50%).

The teacher will be located at the NDSCS Career Innovation Center and employed through a C3

TEC member school district. The contract will be held by the designated C3

TEC member school (Fargo Public Schools) and will follow the hosting district's salary schedule and negotiated agreement.

As an agricultural education teacher, this professional will provide curriculum through engaging, standards-based instruction and hands-on learning experiences to design a high-quality agriculture pathway program aligned to state requirements, workforce needs, postsecondary expectations, and student career opportunities in North Dakota's evolving agricultural industry.

The agricultural educator will also serve as an Agriculture Activator to create outreach strategies that increase agricultural awareness, expand K-12 career exploration opportunities, and connect students with community partnerships and meaningful work-based learning experiences across the region

Responsibilities

1. Instructional Planning & Project Preparation Priority:
Essential | Percent of Time: 15%

Examples of this work include:

* Design effective curriculum-based projects and activities aligned with state standards and essential learning outcomes.

* Develop engaging instruction and activities based on best practices.

* Participate and plan for professional learning meetings.

* Coordinate CTE Student Organization activities for local, regional, state and/or national competitions.

* Manage inventory control including purchasing materials, supplies, equipment and tools.

* Performs routine maintenance of equipment and tools used in the program.

2. Teaching and Student Support Priority:
Essential | Percent of Time: 25%

* Instruct course content in a student-centered learning environment.

* Assess student progress using formative and summative measures and provide timely feedback.

* Differentiate instruction to meet the academic and career readiness needs of all learners.

* Integrate leadership development, employability skills, and career readiness into daily instruction.

* Provides students with opportunities to expand knowledge and skills through relevant projects.

* Instructs and demonstrates proper safety practices and procedures based on industry requirements.

* Builds positive relationships with students by providing meaningful feedback and support.

* Collaborates with staff to ensure individualized learning needs are met.

* Monitor and record student progress providing formative feedback and evaluations.

* Demonstrate strategies to support students as a group and one-on-one to complete lessons, assignments, projects, activities and assessments.

* Provides students with clear expectations, continual feedback, and logical consequences.

3. General Duties, Program Support & CTSO promotion

Essential | Percent of Time: 10%

Examples of this work include:

* Design and coordinate FFA, recruit student participation, coordinate fundraising and club travel to events.

* Coordinate Advisory Committee meetings and complete required documentation.

* Works collaboratively to cultivate business partnerships for work-based learning.

* General student supervision as needed. This includes but is not limited to locations indoors and outdoors, such as lunchroom, bus stops, playground, classroom, field trips, public transportation, assemblies, and kitchen.

* Attend conferences and workshops toward present and future career development. Participates in general staff meetings.

4. Pathway Activator

Priority:
Essential | Percent of Time: 50%

Examples of this work include:

* Cultivate and maintain partnerships with local agriculture businesses, producers, colleges, universities, and industry organizations

* Expand student awareness of agricultural careers through guest speakers, business tours, internships, job shadows, and work-based learning opportunities

* Collaborate with elementary and middle school educators to strengthen agriculture awareness and pathway development across grade levels

* Support and assist with elementary agricultural field experiences, career exploration events, and hands-on learning opportunities

* Help develop age-appropriate agriculture programming and outreach activities for younger students
