Paraeducators provide instructional support and deliver direct services to students under the direction of a certified teacher or other licensed employee. Two classifications exist: I and II. Schools hire based on student/school needs.
What You Need- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to communicate with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians orally and in writing
- Basic academic and computer skills
- Experience working or volunteering in a school setting
- Experience working with individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Associate's degree in Education, Child Development, Psychology, or related field
- Experience as a direct support professional, personal care aide, CNA, or similar position
