Position

Purpose:

A MTSS Tutor provides academic or behavioral interventions to support and deliver direct services to students under the direction of a certified teacher or other licensed employee. This classification is generally assigned to work with small groups of students needing tier II or III interventions.

Responsibilities:

• Instructional Support: to provide instructional support to students for academics or behavior under the direction of a certified teacher or other licensed employee. This includes teaching and learning-based support and instructional support in relation to student social, emotional, and behavioral development. Priority:
  Essential Percent of Time: 80%
• Professional Development: maintains, acquires, and expands position related theory and technical knowledge. Priority:
  Essential Percent of Time: 10%
• General Support: other duties as assigned. Priority:
  Secondary Percent of Time: 10%

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to communicate with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians
• Experience working or volunteering in a school setting

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates degree in Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a similar field
