We're hiring a Child Care Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where children can grow, explore, and thrive. In this role, you'll lead daily classroom activities, implement developmentally appropriate curriculum, and support the social, emotional, physical, and educational development of children in Fraser's inclusive Child Care program.
What You'll Do:Classroom Instruction & Child Development
- Lead children through daily structured activities and routines
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons, activities, and learning experiences
- Foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development
- Encourage creativity, problem‑solving, exploration, and self‑expression
- Promote positive self-esteem, healthy relationships, and respect for diversity
- Support sound health, safety, and nutritional practices
- Implement curriculum and lesson plans
- Utilize Learning Beyond Paper and other approved educational programming
- Adhere to established classroom schedules and curriculum requirements
- Incorporate multicultural awareness and inclusive practices into classroom activities
- Collaborate with the Special Needs Coordinator to support individualized goals and programming
- Observe and assess children's growth, development, and learning progress
- Maintain required documentation, reports, assessments, and activity records
- Complete daily and weekly classroom documentation
- Report health, safety, or developmental concerns to appropriate supervisors
- Provide guidance and support to Child Care Assistants
- Foster a positive, collaborative classroom environment
- Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, and supervisors
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
- Experience working with young children preferred
- Child Development Associate (CDA), Early Childhood Education degree, or related field preferred
- Passion for supporting children's learning and development
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Ability to work effectively with children of all abilities and backgrounds
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment
- Experience supervising others
