Position Overview

Temporary Utility Helper – Gas Operations, located at Fargo Service Center in Fargo, ND and Grand Forks, ND. The position is temporary, with an anticipated start date of August
2026 and may extend through the remainder of 2026. Starting pay is $29.63 per hour, with a possible increase to $35.30 per hour.

• Assist in a variety of job functions within Gas Operations.
• Perform leak surveys of the gas system.
• Maintain, install, and repair gas facilities.
• Work with regulation, metering, odorization, customer piping, and below‑ and above‑ground piping.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift 50lbs.
• Preferred: previous construction or mechanical work experience.
• Preferred: experience with natural gas leak surveys.
• Advanced level requires: experience with natural gas and polyfusion, possession of a CDL (ClassA), and operation of heavy equipment.
• Successful completion of Xcel Energy screening requirements, including security clearance.
