Job SummaryThe Ag Drone Technician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of agricultural spray drones used in precision farming operations. This role ensures drones are safe, compliant, and operating at peak performance to support efficient and accurate crop applications.

Key Responsibilities- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair ag spray drones, including airframes, motors, ESCs, pumps, nozzles, plumbing, and spray systems
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, firmware updates, and calibrations
- Repair or replace electronic components such as flight controllers, GPS units, sensors, wiring, and batteries
- Test drones post-repair to ensure proper flight performance, spray accuracy, and safety compliance
- Maintain detailed service and repair records
- Assist with drone assembly, setup, and pre-season preparation
- Support field operations as needed, including on-site troubleshooting
- Follow FAA, manufacturer, and company safety and operational guidelines
- Manage inventory of parts, tools, and consumables
- Communicate repair timelines and technical findings with operators and management
- Mechanical and/or electrical repair experience (drones, UAVs, small engines, electronics, or similar equipment)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
- Experience working with lithium batteries and electronic systems
- Basic computer skills for firmware updates, diagnostics, and recordkeeping
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple repairs
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience with agricultural spray drones
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Background in agriculture, precision ag, aviation maintenance, or robotics
- Soldering and advanced electronics repair experience
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
- Comfortable working with chemicals, tools, and electronic equipment
- Willingness to work extended hours during peak agricultural seasons
- Ability to work in shop and field environments
