Job Title:
Test Engineer – Power Electronics

Position SummaryWe are seeking a Test Engineer with hands-on experience using lab equipment and analyzing test data. This role works closely with a cross-functional design team
, especially in power electronics
, to define and execute testing requirements and OEM products
.
The engineer will support product verification and validation
, including motor characterization and battery testing
, while preparing detailed test reports. This role requires technical judgment, teamwork, and the ability to think independently while working under guidance.
- Gather and format test requirements from internal and external stakeholders, providing feedback as needed
- Perform and support power electronics Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) testing (internal and external labs)
- Conduct motor characterization, battery testing, and JDQ tests
, and prepare detailed reports - Maintain accurate documentation of test results and schedules; communicate progress clearly
- Apply troubleshooting and debugging techniques to determine root cause with team support
- Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to ensure testing aligns with product specifications
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers
- Travel within the U.S. 1–2 times per year as required (no international travel)
- Provide additional technical support to the department as needed
- Electrical Engineering
- Basic understanding of embedded controllers
- Knowledge of safe high-voltage practices
- Understanding of motor control systems and system-level testing
- Familiarity with design validation fundamentals
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of motor control software (PU2)
- Experience working with dynamo meters (dynos)
- Hands-on experience with debugging tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.)
- Familiarity with microcontroller systems (PWM, bootloaders, ADCs, serial/parallel interfaces)
- Experience with communication networks (CAN, Ethernet, RS-232/485)
- Knowledge of communication protocols (J1939, ISO 11783, TCP/IP)
