As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will develop embedded software for control of Bobcat Hydro‑electrical systems. This includes but is not limited to control systems for loaders, AWS, Toolcat, compact tractors and excavators. The position will also entail using Bobcat software development processes for coding, modeling, and testing these control systems.

• Work with a team of software engineers to design embedded modules
• Create cost‑effective ruggedized solutions that can be used across product lines
• Engage with suppliers and manufacturing partners to develop technical relationships
• Implement functional safety per off‑highway standards
• Guide team on ambiguous hardware interactions and system integration issues
• Investigate transcending system interactions of hardware and software from operator inputs through outputs affecting vehicle responses
• Participate in development of strategic embedded hardware roadmaps to support enabling technologies for products
• Write technical, functional, and performance specifications
• Devise systems involving redundancy, interlocks, and sequencing
• Demonstrate precision in both execution and decision‑making rationale
• Foster a culture of creativity and support diversity of thought, innovation, and excellence within the role

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, Software, or equivalent Engineering discipline
• 7 years of experience
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficient with test instrumentation and data acquisition such as oscilloscopes
• Familiarity with CAN, J1939, LIN, and 100
  
  BASE‑T1 communication protocols and physical layers
• Experience with controller input and output stages such as in body electronics
• Knowledge of internal combustion vehicle systems and related electrical functionality
• EV and high‑voltage componentry familiarity including inverters, BMS, DC/DC, and chargers
• Circuit simulation skills with LTspice, MATLAB Simulink, or similar
• Ability to quickly digest semiconductor datasheets
• Microcontroller involvement especially ARM Cortex
• 10% travel

The salary range for this position is Minimum Pay: $79,663 - Maximum Pay: $97,365 depending on experience and other factors.
