Position
Embedded Software Engineer – Embedded software for control of Bobcat Hydro‑electrical systems, including loaders, AWS, Toolcat, compact tractors and excavators.
Role & Responsibilities- Work with a team of software engineers to design embedded modules
- Create cost‑effective ruggedized solutions that can be used across product lines
- Engage with suppliers and manufacturing partners to develop technical relationships
- Implement functional safety per off‑highway standards
- Guide team on ambiguous hardware interactions and system integration issues
- Investigate transcending system interactions of hardware and software from operator inputs through outputs affecting vehicle responses
- Participate in development of strategic embedded hardware roadmaps to support enabling technologies for products
- Write technical, functional, and performance specifications
- Devise systems involving redundancy, interlocks, and sequencing
- Demonstrate precision in both execution and decision‑making rationale
- Foster a culture of creativity and support diversity of thought, innovation, and excellence
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, Software, or equivalent Engineering discipline
- 7+ years of experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient with test instrumentation and data acquisition such as oscilloscopes
- Familiarity with CAN J1939, LIN and 100
BASE‑T1 communication protocols and physical layers - Experience with controller input and output stages such as body electronics
- Knowledge of internal combustion vehicle systems and related electrical functionality
- EV and high‑voltage componentry familiarity including inverters, BMS, DC/DC and chargers
- Circuit simulation skills with LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar
- Ability to quickly digest semiconductor datasheets
- Experience with microcontrollers, especially ARM Cortex
- 10% travel
Minimum Pay: $79,663 – Maximum Pay: $97,365, depending on experience.
