Embedded Software Engineer; Level DOE

Position

Embedded Software Engineer – Embedded software for control of Bobcat Hydro‑electrical systems, including loaders, AWS, Toolcat, compact tractors and excavators.

• Work with a team of software engineers to design embedded modules
• Create cost‑effective ruggedized solutions that can be used across product lines
• Engage with suppliers and manufacturing partners to develop technical relationships
• Implement functional safety per off‑highway standards
• Guide team on ambiguous hardware interactions and system integration issues
• Investigate transcending system interactions of hardware and software from operator inputs through outputs affecting vehicle responses
• Participate in development of strategic embedded hardware roadmaps to support enabling technologies for products
• Write technical, functional, and performance specifications
• Devise systems involving redundancy, interlocks, and sequencing
• Demonstrate precision in both execution and decision‑making rationale
• Foster a culture of creativity and support diversity of thought, innovation, and excellence

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, Software, or equivalent Engineering discipline
• 7+ years of experience
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficient with test instrumentation and data acquisition such as oscilloscopes
• Familiarity with CAN J1939, LIN and 100
  
  BASE‑T1 communication protocols and physical layers
• Experience with controller input and output stages such as body electronics
• Knowledge of internal combustion vehicle systems and related electrical functionality
• EV and high‑voltage componentry familiarity including inverters, BMS, DC/DC and chargers
• Circuit simulation skills with LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar
• Ability to quickly digest semiconductor datasheets
• Experience with microcontrollers, especially ARM Cortex
• 10% travel

Minimum Pay: $79,663 – Maximum Pay: $97,365, depending on experience.
