As a Transportation Engineer you will play a vital role in designing and enhancing critical infrastructure that propels our communities forward. Collaborating with senior transportation leaders and multidisciplinary teams, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a variety of transportation projects, including roadways, highways, bridges, airports, and transit systems. This role is an exceptional opportunity for a mid‑level engineer eager to deepen their technical skills while leading project tasks that will visibly impact both urban and rural areas.
Key responsibilities include developing transportation plans, preparing construction documents, analyzing traffic flow patterns for safety improvements, and coordinating with contractors and public agencies. You will conduct site inspections to ensure design accuracy and contribute to technical reports and proposals for clients.
What matters mostTo thrive in this role, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline with a strong emphasis on transportation, and possess an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification, with the expectation of obtaining a Professional Engineer (PE) license within 12 months or already possessing a North Dakota PE license. Relevant experience of 3‑6 years in transportation or civil engineering design and consulting is crucial, as is proficiency in design software such as Autodesk Civil 3D and Open Roads Designer.
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving abilities, enabling them to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders. The capacity to analyze and model traffic flow patterns while developing innovative solutions for infrastructure challenges will be key to making a meaningful impact in our communities.
