Our client, a growing civil engineering firm serving communities across the Upper Midwest, is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its team in Fargo, North Dakota. Responsibilities

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for providing comprehensive engineering services across a variety of municipal, land development, and aviation projects. This role involves both office-based design work and field coordination to ensure projects are delivered successfully from concept through construction.

  • Provide civil engineering services including design, preparation of plans/specifications, reports, budgets, scopes of work, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate project activities with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure successful execution.
  • Participate in client meetings, design discussions, pre-bid meetings, and construction coordination sessions.
  • Maintain project documentation and ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Conduct periodic site visits and provide construction observation to ensure adherence to design standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to address technical issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing updates on project progress and addressing concerns in a timely manner.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to support continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or actively working toward licensure in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, or Iowa.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Self-motivated, coachable, and eager to grow in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on municipal, land development, or aviation projects.
  • Interest in or familiarity with rural infrastructure projects and small-community challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to client relationships and deliver a positive project experience.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
