SCADA Engineer

The Opportunity

Ulteig is seeking a SCADA Electrical Engineer for the Automation, Integration and System Protection (AISP) Department. The engineer will design, program, install and test automation systems that integrate multiple sub‑systems to meet operational and regulatory requirements.

• Create SCADA point lists, RTU programs, HMIs, meter programs, metering overviews, and calculations under the supervision of a lead engineer.
• Program, install, troubleshoot, test and commission RTUs, PACs and HMIs for renewable and power utility SCADA systems.
• Develop complete design packages for site network and communication architectures compliant with power utility client and regulatory requirements.
• Establish and maintain schedules and provide timely progress reports and project status updates.
• Takes ownership of quality and coaches/mentors others.
• Maintains positive client relationships, responsive both internally and externally, with frequent client interaction.
• Responsible for completing tasks and projects in allotted time.
• Understands actual time required for most tasks and helps develop the project schedule.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, ABET‑accredited program or equivalent.
• Successful completion of the Professional Engineering (PE) exam, or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in communication protocols (DNP3, Modbus, etc.) and internet network architectures.
• Network design experience and certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate are plus.
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Experience in applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to complete tasks.
• Strong design, analysis and specification writing skills.
• Ability to coach and collaborate with engineering technicians and experienced engineers.
• Debug, troubleshoot and document engineering design and evaluation work.
• Willing to travel 15‑20% and holds authority to work permanently in the US.
• Valid driver's license or ability to obtain prior to start date.

Target Base Compensation Range for this role: $104,780 – $141,900.
