The Opportunity
Ulteig is seeking talented and motivated candidates for a Renewables Civil Designer - BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) role supporting the land development of BESS projects. The selected candidate will collaborate with Ulteig's civil, structural, and electrical design teams and our clients to deliver innovative, forward-thinking design solutions that support the development, design, and construction of BESS projects across the country.
WhatYou'll Do
- Work with the project engineer to complete detailed civil design solutions on projects as assigned.
- Apply industry design standards on development projects and coach others on the team.
- Utilize prior design experience to proactively address potential design issues.
- Help the team develop and refine design and drafting standards for projects.
- Practice efficiency engineering as it pertains to design selection.
- Work closely with other engineering technicians and experienced engineers.
- Design will be primarily within AutoCAD Civil 3D with an emphasis on road layout, mass site grading, earthwork takeoffs, stormwater and erosion and sediment control plans.
- Demonstrate a wide degree of creativity and independence.
- Effectively communicate and interact with clients to ensure expectations are met.
- Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
- Associate or technical degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 6-8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering technician roles, with 3-4+ years of experience in the design of large land development projects required.
- Demonstrated proficiency and working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
- Proficient in large-scale site grading design, additions to existing civil designs, and earthwork calculations required.
- Proven experience in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Excellent presentation and verbal/written communications skills.
- Analytical, self-motivated, and able to work in high-pressure situations while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Must have authorisation to work permanently in the US.
