Magnum Electric is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Entry-Level Electrical Controls Estimator to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in electrical estimating and industrial controls. No previous estimating experience is required; we are willing to train the right candidate.

In this role, you will work alongside experienced estimators and project managers to prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical controls projects while developing a strong understanding of electrical systems, control panels, instrumentation, and construction processes.

• Assist in preparing estimates for electrical controls and automation projects.
• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for electrical materials and equipment.
• Request and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare material and labor cost estimates.
• Maintain organized bid files and estimating documentation.
• Communicate with project managers, vendors, and customers as needed.
• Assist with bid submissions and project handoffs.
• Learn industry standards, estimating software, and company procedures.
• Support continuous improvement of estimating processes.

Estimator Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical degree or coursework in electrical technology, construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred
• Basic understanding of electrical systems or construction
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings is preferred but can be learned.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow.
• Valid driver’s license.
