Room Service Assistant - Broadway - PT

Overview

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is seeking a Room Service Assistant (Call Center) at the Broadway Campus in Fargo, ND. This is a part-time evening shift position with varying days 3-7pm, including rotating weekends and holidays.

• Perform a variety of food service duties for patients; serve meals and snacks in a professional manner.
• Maintain supplies up to PAR (Periodic Automatic Replenishment) levels and ensure rotation of floor supplies.
• Deliver room service menus to patients and instruct patients on meal ordering systems; assess patients’ ability to use the meal order system.
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff, nutrition techs, dietitians and call center staff.
• Use computerized diet sheets, access patient computer system, retrieve completed meals from patients’ rooms, and record intake and calorie count information.
• Maintain compliance with HACCP guidelines.
• Obtain, transcribe and process meal orders from patients and visitors over the telephone; verify that orders meet diet order parameters and provide appropriate menu for diet.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and listening skills; establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and nursing staff.
• Evaluate and maintain quality control standards.

• Direct customer service experience preferred.
• Previous food service experience and/or work with therapeutic diets preferred.
• On-the-job training provided.
