Description & Details:
The Department of Residence Life is seeking multiple students to hire as Temporary Student Safety Assistants. Temporary Student Safety Assistants will provide systematic surveillance of a residence hall building for the purpose of identifying and controlling fire hazards, detecting early signs of fire, raising an alarm in the event of a fire, and notifying the appropriate entities in the event of a fire.
Work Schedule:
* Approximately 30-minute shifts on weekdays (from 3 pm to 6 am Monday through Thursday) and on weekends (from 3 pm on Friday through 6 am on Monday). Students will sign-up for shifts during these time frames, which will occur once per hour.
* Shifts begin as early as Saturday, August 8 and will continue on an as-needed basis
Advertised Pay:
* $20/hour
Minimum Qualifications and
Competencies:
* Enrolled NDSU student (undergraduate or graduate) for fall 2026 semester
* Ability to walk and see while patrolling a residence hall building
Preferred Qualifications and
Competencies:
* Previous residence life experience
* Strong communication skills
* Sound judgment and decision making
* Dependability and reliability
