Director of Accounting

Position for Aldevron & Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) in Fargo, ND or Coralville, IA. Remote applicants will be considered if able to travel on a monthly basis.

• Lead the General Accounting team to ensure timely and accurate consolidated information for internal and corporate reporting.
• Review monthly results, analyze balance sheets, investigate anomalies, and monitor complex transaction execution.
• Lead the implementation and ongoing maintenance of a SOX‑compliant control environment in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
• Identify, research, and resolve complex accounting issues at the OpCo level and serve as a US GAAP technical resource for financial operations as required.
• Draft whitepapers to support accounting positions and related conclusions.
• Support business audits conducted by external and internal auditors.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 14+ years of experience, OR Master’s/Doctoral with 12+ years of experience and 4+ years of people‑management experience.
• Assistant Controller or similar position.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP and all accounting/finance regulations.
• Systems fluency in ERP/consolidation tools (e.g., D365, SAP, One Stream) to oversee mappings, validations, intercompany eliminations, and balance sheet/income‑statement tie‑outs.

• Ability to travel – 20% travel, overnight, within territory or locations.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

• CPA preferred.
• Knowledge in various accounting and finance roles, preferably in a large or publicly‑traded organization with manufacturing operations.

The annual salary range for this role is $165,000 – $185,000. This range may be modified in the future. The role is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. Benefits include paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
