The Fargo VA Health Care System is recruiting for 1 full-time Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist for the Diagnostic Imaging service line.
DutiesAs a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist in the imaging service line, the incumbent is responsible for independently and without direct supervision performing a wide variety of routine to complex diagnostic radiology, complex fluoroscopic x‑ray, and complex surgery fluoroscopic exams. These exams are performed with and without the use of contrast materials and may include the operation of an automatic injector system. The purpose of these exams is to achieve diagnostic studies that support proper diagnosis and treatment of veterans.
The incumbent must have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to check the system for operation and assess acceptable performance based on established guidelines and calibration parameters, to adjust as needed; to review the patient’s clinical record, diagnosis, and laboratory results; to monitor patient physiologic changes during the procedure and keep the radiologist informed. The incumbent must also demonstrate tact, diplomacy, and courtesy in dealings with the customer base, patients, staff, family, visitors, and volunteers.
Adept knowledge of anatomy and physiology, cross‑sectional anatomy, recognition of unusual images, and determination of proper positioning are essential to best demonstrate areas of interest.
