Job SummaryWe’re seeking a caring, responsible, and empathetic Medical Assistant (MA/CMA) who will be involved in assisting with patient care for all ages in an ambulatory setting. The Medical Assistant will be an advocate for the patient’s needs by collaborating with both the patient and their care team to ensure that the patient is comfortable throughout their healthcare journey a Medical Assistant, you can look forward to creating strong bonds with your patients and co‑workers and have multiple opportunities for growth and development.
Responsibilities- Collects subjective and objective health status data from the patient or caregiver and communicates data to healthcare provider.
- Follows through on the patient’s plan of care under the direction of the provider.
- Communicates the provider’s written instructions for care to the patient or caregiver.
- Participates in care for patients across the lifespan, providing preventative care, health maintenance, treatment, and follow-up as patients move in and out of care settings.
- Obtains vital signs, prepares patients for examinations, observes and reports patient’s signs or symptoms, and performs point‑of‑care testing.
- Graduated from a recognized Medical Assistant program.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA).
- Certification such as CMA, CCMA, CMAC, NCMA, or RMA from an accredited national program.
- Registered as an MAIII through the ND Board of Nursing, with a 4‑month period to obtain if not already registered.
- Medication administration performed prior to obtaining MAIII registration must be supervised by a licensed nurse.
- Registered on the ND Board of Nursing UAP Registry if MAIII registration missing at hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment, with re‑certification as required.
