License: ARRT, RCIS, or RCES preferred
Certifications:
BLS - AHA
Must-Have:
2 years recent experience
BLS certification
Proficient with coronary stent interventions
Ability to scrub for cardiac angiograms/interventions, neuro angiograms/interventions, and vascular endovascular/peripheral vascular angiograms/interventions
Experience with pacemaker implants and device cases
Description:
The Cath Lab Technologist will perform various duties in the cardiac catheterization lab.
Duties include scrubbing for left/right heart catheterizations and percutaneous coronary interventions including rotablader and shockwave.
Involvement in procedures such as pericardiocentesis and intra-aortic balloon pump or Impella insertion and removal will be expected.
Experience in peripheral vascular and electrophysiology device procedures including pacemakers, ICDs, and loop recorders is preferred.
Additional procedures may involve PFO/ASD closure and electrophysiology ablations.
The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of diagnostic radiographic principles including positioning, image processing, quality control, and radiation protection.
The Cath Lab is equipped with EPIC, CUPID, and GE MAC Lab/Cardio Lab as the main reporting systems.
Proficiency in sterile technique is essential.
A comprehensive assessment will be made regarding candidates’ experience levels to tailor the orientation accordingly.
All clinicians must badge in and out while working.
Scrub colors will be provided.
