Physician Assistant - Deputy Assistant Chief Primary Care

Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval - award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.

• The Deputy of Primary care ensures the continuation of comprehensive health care for veteran patients
• The scope of care is responsible for Primary Care services - but must also provide indirect oversight for all medical - surgical - and ancillary services provided at this facility
• Duties include:
  
  Directs daily operations to ensure smooth flow and transition of care for the patient
• Includes direct supervision of clinical operations to include all Primary Care providers in support of assigned location in the primary care ICC
• Works collaboratively with Nursing and GPM leadership to ensure efficient and high-quality care
• Ensures Primary Care services - including appropriate consultation services and veteran same day access - shall be available to meet the needs of patients and their physicians
• Specific functions shall include identifying potential areas of growth and potential shortfalls of current operations
• Manages and provides oversight of clinical operations within the clinical services under their responsibility at the Fargo VA Health Care System and affiliated CBOCs
• These duties include administrative supervision of physicians - and physician assistants - and other clinical staff as directed
• The coordination of productivity measures - bookablity - leave - clinical schedules
• Clinical oversight will be the responsibility of the ACOS or appropriate designee outside the PA's scope
• Work Schedule:
  
  8:00am - 4:30pm - Monday - Friday - occasional weekends
