Nursing Assistant

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Nursing Assistant (NA) to perform essential direct patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, while actively pursuing Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification. Provide comprehensive patient care, including bathing, oral care, feeding, ambulation, and monitoring vital signs. Manage inventory, documentation, clerical tasks, dietary assistance, light housekeeping, and computer input to support nursing unit operations. Maintain meticulous attention to detail and collaborate within the nursing team to ensure optimal patient well-being and a supportive care environment.

• Provide basic nursing care within the scope of practice, including positioning, lifting, and turning patients; apply/utilize special equipment; monitor skin condition; assist with toileting and ambulation.
• Perform basic patient care responsibilities tailored to the standard of care for patient age, including pediatric, geriatric, and general populations.
• Answer patient call lights, anticipate needs, and make rounds to assigned patients. Respond to patients in emergency or physically distressful conditions.
• Follow established infection control practices.
• Take and record temperatures, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, intake, and output.
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients. Transport patients to and from various departments as required.

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) issued by the state of North Dakota within six (6) months of start date.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
