Behavioral Health Technician

This position assists in maintaining a successful residential facility by encouraging and supporting residents in their recovery through monitoring, observing, and reporting to clinical staff and management; ensures that all rules and procedures are adhered to as set forth by the organization and act as liaison between residents and clinical staff.

The Behavioral Health Tech does not supervise any positions.

Duties and essential job functions include greeting, welcoming and assisting clients/residents, vendors and guests; monitoring, dispensing and re-ordering client medications; conducting room-to-room apartment checks and facility checks; documenting information, observations, concerns, issues and events; performing light maintenance and housekeeping duties; performing breathalyzer and unobserved urine drug screens; monitoring and tracking clients' exits and entries into facility; monitoring medication to residents; transporting clients to appointments/meetings;

answering phones, greeting public, and routing inquiries; understanding and abiding by all confidentiality laws; providing and maintaining reliable and prompt attendance; conducting fire drills; searching client property; reviewing facility cameras for safety; cleaning and disinfecting client rooms as they discharge; referring maintenance and repair issues to maintenance department; covering the front office assistant's phone as needed; assisting in client orientation;

and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications require a high school diploma or equivalent and prefer 6 months experience in related field or position.

Required licenses/certificates include being CPR, First Aid Certified and CMA 1 certified within 60 days of employment and stay up to date at renewal periods; being able to be medication certified according to Share House and North Dakota Board of Health standards; and having a valid driver's license and clean driving record according to company insurance standards.

Physical requirements frequently require stooping and bending, use of color vision and ability to distinguish colors, pushing and pulling, lifting and carrying up to 15 lbs, ability to communicate orally and hear/understand oral communication, and ability to utilize fine motor skills, reach and grasp. Occasionally requires standing for up to 1 hour, pushing and pulling, lifting and carrying over 15 lbs.

Work environment is with few physical discomforts; may occasionally be exposed to drafts, noise, temperature variations and odors.
