Role Summary

Department: Human Resources
Reports To: HR Manager / VP

Location: Fargo, ND (Hybrid)

Position Summary

The HR Generalist/Specialist supports day-to-day human resources operations across the employee lifecycle. This role ensures compliance with employment laws and company policies while delivering responsive support in areas including onboarding, employee relations, benefits, payroll coordination, performance management, engagement initiatives, and HR compliance

Responsibilities and Duties Employee Lifecycle & Administration
  • Manage employment documentation for hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
  • Maintain accurate employee files and HR records.
  • Support onboarding and educate employees on policies and procedures.
  • Assist with job descriptions and role documentation.
Employee Relations & Communication
  • Address employee inquiries, concerns, and grievances.
  • Support performance management and disciplinary processes.
  • Assist leadership with employee trends and workforce insights.
  • Support employee surveys and engagement initiatives.
Compensation, Benefits & Payroll
  • Communicate benefits, payroll, and HR processes to employees.
  • Partner with external vendors for payroll and benefits administration.
  • Assist with compensation benchmarking and market research.
Compliance & Policy
  • Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws (e.g., FMLA, ERISA, COBRA).
  • Maintain the Employee Handbook and support ISO/security documentation standards.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong communication, organization, and confidentiality skills.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent HR experience.
  • 4+ years of HR experience preferred.
