Twelve-month position; 40 hours a week, within the hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm M-F and other times to reach agency goals or job duties.

Decision Making Authority: Responsible for best interests of SEEC given what has been budgeted and carefully utilizes funding to achieve expected goals. Approval required from Director of Business Services (or assigned designee) on specific matters as outlined in policies and procedures.

Position Overview:

The HR Generalist / Accountant provides professional support across SEEC's human resources, payroll, and accounting functions. This position is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of bi-weekly payroll, employee benefits, leave records, onboarding and separation processes, and other day-to-day human resources activities. The position also assists the Director of Business Services with accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial recordkeeping, reconciliations, reporting, and other fiscal services.

The position supports the overall goals, objectives, and strategies of SEEC and is responsible for representing SEEC in a positive and professional manner to staff, visitors, member schools, and other stakeholders.

Position Accountabilities, Responsibilities and Essential Functions

A critical part of every position is achieving the goals set for the position while delivering high levels of satisfaction to internal and external customers. This is realized by building positive internal individual and team relationships, positive relationships with external partners and exhibiting behaviors that contribute to the success of short and long-term goals of the agency. These behaviors include a focus on timely completion and high quality of work (with or without supervision) while following all legal, compliance, departmental, documentation, safety, timelines, program and other standards per company policies and procedures.

Position requires close collaboration with Director of Business Services, Clients, Stakeholders, and other SEEC employees in addition to Community and Funding Agencies.

Performance is equally a function of goal attainment; timely and accurate completion of assignments; building positive internal and external relationships; planning, communicating and coordinating work to avoid last minute confusion; and adherence legal/compliance guidelines and policies/procedures.

Job Duties 70% Program Management:
Payroll, Benefits & Human Resources
  • Administer accurate, timely, and compliant bi-weekly payroll processing for SEEC employees, including wages, stipends, reimbursements, deductions, leave, and other payroll-related payments.
  • Review payroll information for accuracy and completeness, identify discrepancies, and coordinate with employees and supervisors to resolve issues prior to payroll processing.
  • Process and reconcile employee and employer benefit deductions and contributions, including health insurance, retirement plans, HSA contributions, flexible spending accounts, and other employee benefits.
  • Monitor leave balances, usage, and accruals in accordance with SEEC policies and applicable requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel, payroll, and benefits records in accordance with agency policies and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Support recruitment activities, including job postings, application screening, and other pre-employment processes.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding and separation processes, ensuring required employment, payroll, benefits, tax, and other documentation is completed accurately and timely.
  • Coordinate with benefit providers, payroll vendors, retirement plan administrators, insurance providers, and other external partners to ensure accurate processing, billing, enrollment, and remittance of employee benefits and related services.
  • Perform end of month, quarter, calendar year and fiscal year processing following agency procedures and Software Unlimited checklists.
