Josda is building estate readiness and estate administration software for financial advisors, families, executors, and estate teams. We help people turn estate planning from static documents into a practical roadmap loved ones can actually use during death, disability, serious emergency, or estate administration.

We are hiring a product-minded full-stack engineer to own meaningful parts of the Josda app end to end across React/Type Script, Python/FastAPI, Postgre

SQL/Alembic, AWS CDK, document workflows, AI-assisted support, integrations, and production quality.

This is a ground-floor opportunity to join an early-stage company led by founders with shared experience growing prior businesses from startup stage to more than $10M in annual revenue. We are especially interested in engineers who have fully embraced agentic coding tools and AI-assisted development workflows to ship faster while still applying strong judgment around quality, security, privacy, and user experience.

Estate planning is often treated as a legal-document problem. In real life, families need much more than documents. They need clear access to accounts, debts, documents, contacts, instructions, digital information, and trusted workflows at the moments when confusion is most costly.

Josda is building for sensitive, high-trust situations where product clarity, security, reliability, and human-centered design matter. Our goal is to make estate planning and estate administration more usable for advisors, families, executors, and estate teams.

You will work across the stack, influence product decisions, make architecture choices, improve the customer experience, and ship features that directly affect how families and advisors use Josda.

We do not view AI coding tools as a novelty. We view them as part of how high-performing product engineers build now. The right person will use agentic tools to increase speed and ambition while independently verifying correctness, security, and maintainability.

• Own end-to-end product development from problem framing through implementation, testing, release, and iteration.
• Build clear, reliable user experiences with thoughtful flows, responsive design, strong defaults, and attention to edge cases.
• Develop and maintain the application stack across frontend, backend, data, integrations, infrastructure, and deployment workflows.
• Strengthen product quality through pragmatic testing, code review, observability, documentation, and continuous improvement.
• Improve AI-assisted and automated workflows with a focus on usefulness, trust, safety, and human-centered product design.
• Use agentic coding tools responsibly to accelerate delivery while independently verifying correctness, security, and maintainability.
• Partner closely with product and leadership to clarify ambiguous needs, make tradeoffs, and ship work that directly improves the customer experience.
• Support production operations by investigating issues, resolving root causes, and reducing recurring sources of friction.

• Full-stack product engineering with production ownership across frontend, backend, data, infrastructure, and user-facing quality.
• Type Script + React including modern component architecture, forms, routing, API integration, validation, state management, and responsive UX.
• Python backend development with FastAPI/Pydantic/SQL Alchemy or comparable API and service-layer experience.
• Relational data modeling including migrations, data integrity, authorization boundaries, and secure handling of sensitive user information.
• Cloud infrastructure with AWS or equivalent production deployment experience, infrastructure as code, secrets, observability, and operational judgment.
• Agentic coding fluency with tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex-style workflows, or similar AI development systems; able to verify, test, and improve AI-generated work.
• Product and UX judgment including clear flows, strong copy, edge cases, accessibility basics, loading/error states, and empathy for non-technical users under stress.
