Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program specializing in Computer Science/Systems or a related field. (Candidates who have completed their degree in the last nine months are also encouraged to apply.)
- Proficient understanding of design, implementation, and sustainment activities of Information Technology systems.
- Familiar with infrastructure management techniques such as change management, problem management, release management, configuration management, and/or system lifecycle.
- Experience in project management techniques and the ability to lead projects to a timely, successful outcome.
- Understand MS and/or UNIX environments including common suites and core business applications.
- Ability to develop efficient and effective program and system solutions for light to medium complex business problems.
- Ability to automate tasks and document them for others to use; takes direction from others.
- Ability to analyze, diagnose, and resolve system performance problems or outages.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technologies and methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to upgrade hardware, operating system software, and third‑party software.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and document medium to large product upgrades.
- Strong ability to project/forecast time allocation for project completion.
- Effective communication with coworkers and all levels of management, both verbally and in writing.
- Install and configure computing systems and support software in support of business processes and objectives.
- Provide administration and support documentation.
- Participate in research and estimating of proposed work.
- Support and coordinate the effective administration of computing systems and support software.
- Prepare program, system, operational, and user documentation.
- Work as an active team member for joint project success, taking responsibility for assigned action items and deliverables.
- Focus on operational activities that ensure maximum availability and reliability of the supported platform/technology.
The expected hiring range for an intern is $18.25 – $20.00 per hour, depending on skills, experience, education, and training.
