Public Safety Telecommunicators (PSTs) at Red River Regional Dispatch Center are the first, first responders to jump into action. As the vital link between our community and emergency field responders, you will handle incoming emergency and non-emergency calls, assess situations quickly, and dispatch law enforcement, fire, or medical services with precision and professionalism.

• Earn a starting rate of $27.90/hr.
• Shift Differential:
  Earn +$1.00/hr. differential for evening, night, and weekend shifts, plus $1.50/hr. shift differential rates on overtime.
• Work 52 FEWER Days a Year:
  Ditch the boring 5-day grind! Choose between 10-hour shifts (4-day workweek rotation) or a 12-hour rotation that gives you every other weekend off.
• Paid Time Off:
  Accrue PTO from day one! You'll earn 22 days (5.5 weeks!) of PTO in your very first year.

• Rapid Analysis & Decision-Making:
  Ability to assess fast-moving situations quickly and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Technical Aptitude:
  Comfort navigating computer software systems, a computer screen based radio console, data entry tools, radio and multi-line phones simultaneously.
• Composure Under Pressure:
  Ability to stay calm, focused, and empathetic during stressful or critical situations.

• Receive and evaluate emergency and non-emergency calls via multi-line phone systems with professionalism and empathy
• Utilize computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software to log incidents accurately and efficiently
• Dispatch police, fire, or medical units promptly using radio communication systems and GPS technology
• Gather critical information, determine priority levels, and provide pre‑arrival instructions such as first aid or CPR guidance
• Maintain clear communication with first responders during incidents, providing updates and support as needed

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to type 40+ correct words per minute
• Ability to pass a background check and pre‑employment screening
