Job SummaryThis Alliance Sourcing Analyst will lead sourcing strategy and coordination activities for Border States’ Alliance customers. The role involves negotiating supplier pricing, analyzing new and renewal sourcing opportunities, collaborating with Alliance Pricing, Marketing, and Supply Chain Services teams, and driving continuous improvement of sourcing processes. The position is located in Fargo, ND.
Responsibilities- Lead the development, coordination, and maintenance of sourcing strategies for specific customer agreements and major business changes, utilizing appropriate system resources.
- Identify and implement cost‑saving opportunities through aggregation efforts and reporting for Alliance customer contracts.
- Negotiate supplier pricing and sourcing terms to ensure competitive costs for Alliance customers.
- Analyze new Alliance sourcing, quote renewals, forward buys, and other sourcing processes to prioritize focus areas.
- Collaborate with Alliance Pricing, Marketing, and Supply Chain Services teams to identify cost‑saving opportunities and appropriate sourcing strategies.
- Develop and manage sourcing tools and processes that meet evolving business needs.
- Integrate sourcing tools with branch and customer requirements, ensuring alignment with internal trends.
- Lead integration efforts with branches and customers and drive process improvements.
- Pursue product and commercial knowledge through relevant training and industry engagement.
- Perform additional duties as directed by management.
- Four‑year degree in business, technical, engineering, or marketing, or equivalent work experience.
- At least two years of procurement, sales, or marketing experience with knowledge of electrical, utility, industrial, or communication wiring products.
- Advanced technical knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
- Strong commercial knowledge of Border States vendors, products, and services.
- Proficient in pricing systems, processes, and procedures.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to deliver core service excellence.
- Leadership in continuous improvement and innovation.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal teams, branches, and vendors.
- Independence and initiative in completing tasks.
- Excellent organization, time‑management, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
Typical daily lifting only occurs sporadically; no heavy lifting required. The role is primarily desk‑based, with frequent computer use, telephone use, and occasional travel.
