Job SummaryThe Corporate Intern – Procurement will develop a solid understanding of the department they are in as well as the overall business. The internship aims to provide our interns with challenging, real-world projects specific to their career path. Works within the department on day-to-day projects; projects will include, but not be limited to, activities related to process improvement, project management, data support, reporting, documentation, and other assigned responsibilities.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions
- Works within the department on day-to-day projects; including, but not limited to, activities related to process improvement, project management, data support, reporting, documentation, and other assigned responsibilities.
- Builds relationships through meetings, events, and one-on-ones with various employee owners and leaders.
- Focuses on real-world projects within the department.
- Collaborates with various departments throughout the company.
Department Responsibilities
- Responsible for one or more key Inventory and Pricing department projects that may span the duration of the internship or part-time employment. These projects require interaction with team members, but also provide an opportunity for autonomous work.
- Projects may include work in areas of inventory demand planning, purchasing, vendor pricing, customer pricing, sourcing and/or master data and may include the ownership of data driven Procurement processes.
- Process automation and improvement.
Non-Essential Functions
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or other designate.
- Current student or new graduate (within last year) in a two or four year degree program.
- Requires strong knowledge of PC for Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and One Note).
- Strong knowledge of business office procedures, office equipment operation, data entry/keyboarding skills, and communication systems helpful.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, reading, and customer service skills.
- Excellent customer service skills include being competent, accurate, responsive, and engaged.
- Ability to effectively plan and organize.
