Animal Clinic Inventory Assistant

Red River Animal Emergency Clinic is seeking a part-time Animal Clinic Inventory Assistant to join our team in Fargo, North Dakota. This position offers a starting wage of $18 per hour
, with higher compensation available based on experience.

This is a part-time Animal Clinic Inventory Assistant position working 15 - 29 hours per week
. The current schedule is anticipated to include approximately 2-3 shifts per week, generally lasting 8 hours per shift. Current scheduling needs are primarily Tuesday and Wednesday from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., however, days and hours may be adjusted based on the selected candidate's availability and the needs of the hospital.

As a 24/7 facility, schedules may change and could include weekends, holidays, evenings, and overnight shifts as needed. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.

As an Animal Clinic Inventory Assistant, you will support the Inventory Manager and Facilities Manager with the daily management of hospital inventory. You will receive, unpack, verify, and stock incoming shipments of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, laboratory supplies, food, office supplies, and other items. Throughout the day, you will organize storage areas, rotate inventory using FEFO/FIFO practices, monitor expiration dates and levels, and report discrepancies, damaged products, recalls, or low-stock items as needed.

You will assist with counts, maintain records, help prepare purchase orders, support ordering processes, and ensure supplies are distributed throughout the hospital and readily available in treatment areas, exam rooms, surgery, ICU, pharmacy, laboratory, and other departments. In addition, you will help maintain clean, organized, and secure storage areas by properly storing products, breaking down shipping materials, and keeping shelves, refrigerators, freezers, and stockrooms orderly.

• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and follow established procedures
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing needs
• Strong communication and professionalism
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and positive working relationships
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory management software
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to regularly lift and transport up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach, and move throughout the hospital during shifts

• Strong knowledge of veterinary inventory, medical supplies, and hospital operations
• Veterinary Technician education or CVT/LVT credentials
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and veterinary software systems
