Cass County Electric Cooperative has a new opportunity for a full-time Manager of Public Safety Outreach to join our team.
Position SummaryThe Manager of Public Safety Outreach serves as the primary connection between the cooperative and the communities we serve. This role promotes public safety awareness, leads incident and accident investigations involving the public, and ensures a proactive, coordinated response to safety-related events. Working closely with internal teams, utilities, contractors, and community members, this position helps mitigate risk, protect infrastructure, and ensure accountability for damages.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the cooperative’s liaison with the public on safety-related matters
- Promote public safety education and awareness programs within the community
- Lead and coordinate accident and incident investigations involving public contact
- Assess damage to cooperative facilities and infrastructure and support recovery efforts
- Collaborate with internal departments, utilities, contractors, and external agencies to reduce risk
- Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and follow-up for incidents and damages
- Support accountability and cost recovery efforts related to infrastructure damage
- Respond proactively to emerging public safety concerns
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, emergency management, or a related field plus three to five years of related work experience. Closely related and progressive job experience may substitute for a portion of the educational requirements.
- Experience in public safety, risk management, utilities, or a related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Knowledge of accident investigation processes and safety best practices
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm and professional in incident response situations
