About the OpportunityA growing and established organization is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Supervisor to lead daily AR operations and oversee a team focused on cash application, reconciliations, reporting, and process excellence. This leadership role offers the opportunity to drive operational improvements, support strategic initiatives, and partner with key stakeholders across Finance, Credit, Collections, and Treasury.
Position SummaryThe Accounts Receivable Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations of the AR function, ensuring accurate and timely processing, strong internal controls, and exceptional service delivery. This role provides leadership to the AR team through coaching, performance management, and professional development while driving continuous improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities Accounts Receivable Leadership & Operations- Provide oversight and guidance related to accounts receivable processes, cash applications, reporting, and controls.
- Partner closely with Credit and Collections teams to ensure timely cash application and resolution of customer account discrepancies.
- Manage escalated issues including customer disputes, unapplied cash, and system-related challenges.
- Ensure month-end close activities and reporting deadlines are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Monitor banking transactions to support accurate posting, compliance, fraud prevention, and alignment with Treasury processes.
- Oversee AR workflows, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and adherence to internal controls.
- Monitor service level metrics and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Track departmental KPIs, analyze trends, identify risks, and develop process improvement initiatives.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Accounts Receivable team members.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing feedback, and support career development.
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training activities.
- Coordinate team workload, task prioritization, and resource allocation.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and highly engaged team environment.
- Support internal and external audit activities, ensuring documentation and compliance requirements are met.
- Lead special projects designed to improve efficiency, scalability, accuracy, and overall performance.
- Assist with mergers, acquisitions, and system integration initiatives, including onboarding new entities and standardizing processes.
- Support system maintenance, testing, upgrades, and process documentation updates.
- Contribute to risk management, policy development, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounting, or Finance.
- Prior leadership or people management experience preferred.
- Project management experience preferred.
- Banking and/or Treasury experience preferred.
- Professional certifications related to receivables management are a plus.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, SharePoint, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP/accounting systems preferred.
