Production Lead - Tunnel Operator

Job Description

Job Overview:
Performs work as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility. Responsible for safe, expeditious, and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of the laundry facility. The Team Lead ensures a high level of service to customers while maintaining overall profitability by assisting with the management of safety, productivity, accuracy, turnover, and training within the department.

• Prepares work station
• Transfers hangers from hanger rack to shirt or pant hanging aid
• Flips shirts or pants onto hangers, dresses, and cleans as applicable
• Identifies merchandise requiring repair and applies twist tie to hanger
• Ensures garment placed on an open conveyor pick
• Maintains safe and clean work environment and observes best practices in all production activities
• Oversees a small group of production employees and leads day‑to‑day function under direction of plant/production manager
• Completes additional duties as assigned by management

• Ability to understand all required training, written, and verbal instructions
• Working knowledge of basic math skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to meet attendance schedule

• Warehouse setting with exposure to weather, extreme heat and cold, dust, and noise
• Shift schedule that may include weekends
• Overtime as needed
• Physical requirements:
  
  repetitive motions, bending, reaching, pulling, twisting, lifting, use of hands, standing, walking for long periods

• High school diploma or equivalent
