The Day Shift Welder II is responsible for performing high‑quality welding operations on metal components throughout the manufacturing and assembly process. This role supports production, safety, quality, and continuous improvement objectives by executing welds to specification, maintaining equipment and work areas, and actively contributing to CNH Business System (CBS+) standards. The scheduled work hours are Monday through Thursday, 5:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with overtime as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Perform welding operations using electric wire feed welding equipment according to layouts, blueprints, work instructions, and welding procedures.
- Weld metal components in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions to required specifications for strength and quality.
- Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, degreasing, and grinding weld joints or work pieces.
- Perform related fabrication tasks such as cutting metal using oxy/acetylene torch and operating additional welding equipment as required.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Actively support CNH Business System (CBS+) standard initiatives, including safety, quality, cost reduction, workplace organization (5S), and continuous improvement.
- Document defects, improvements, and work activities in required systems.
- Participate in training, safety discussions, and improvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support production needs.
- Minimum of three (3) years of welding experience, technical welding training, or successful completion of an approved welding training program.
- Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints and technical drawings.
- Must successfully pass an AWS welding certification test administered by the company.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety.
- Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting, standing, bending, reaching, and working in various welding positions.
