Industrial Mechanic
Responsible for maintaining all types of production equipment used in an industrial baking plant. Work with conveyor belt systems, heaters, ovens, mixers, rolling systems, and basic heating and cooling units. Fabricate replacement parts for machinery using basic bench top tools and welding equipment. Perform preventative tasks and emergency maintenance, and document all activities as required in a Food Production Facility. Assist with operator changeovers and troubleshoot issues during 'dry runs'.
Responsibilities- Maintain and repair production equipment, including conveyors, heaters, ovens, and mixers.
- Fabricate replacement parts using bench top tools and welding equipment.
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks and address emergency repairs.
- Document all maintenance activities thoroughly.
- Assist operators during changeovers and perform 'dry runs' to troubleshoot issues.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with production machinery.
- Electrical knowledge, including wiring, troubleshooting, and understanding of VFDs and PLC systems.
- Basic metal fabrication skills such as drilling, finishing, and welding.
- High attention to detail and ability to use food-grade materials.
Skills & Qualifications
- General mechanical knowledge of gears, conveyors, bearings, and bushings.
- Experience with automated or production equipment is preferred.
- Automotive experience is applicable.

Work EnvironmentWork in a production environment that can get warm during summer. Join a team of 13 maintenance technicians, with at least two on schedule at all times and one on call. The facility operates 24/7/365 with a rotating shift schedule. Uniforms with name tags are provided, and safety boots are required. Be prepared for a loud environment in certain areas and wear hair nets and beard guards when necessary.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fargo, ND.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
