Overview:
The Copywriter Intern will join our team of experienced marketing associates in creating messaging that best showcases our brand to our customers. This associate will work on a team of fellow writers and creators, sharing writing, editing, and proofing responsibilities across a variety of platforms including print, PR/events, store signage, tv, video, and radio.
Responsibilities:
* Content Creation:
Design clear and compelling copy while maintaining brand voice standards and meeting communication objectives.
* Campaign Support:
Draft copy projects from concept to production for a variety of areas including, but not limited to: in-store display, print catalogs, and radio/video scripts.
* Refinement:
Revise detailed copy layouts and provide execution efficiencies to ensure messaging is concise and impactful.
* Insights & Research:
Procure technical product knowledge and category expertise by interviewing SCHEELS experts and researching customer personas to create copy that resonates with our customers' specific needs and tensions.
* Trend Awareness:
Remain in tune with content marketing trends and share findings with fellow associates to create an atmosphere for continual collaboration.
* General Marketing Responsibilities:
* Actively participate in team and office meetings/trainings.
* Confer with leadership to resolve problems or questions.
* Strive to meet goals and assist others in accomplishing their goals.
* Ability to be highly organized and maintain all detailed aspects of projects.
* Continuous brainstorm of new processes to improve workflows.
* Ensure the SCHEELS brand style guide and "Expert" voice is upheld across all content.
* Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
* Other responsibilities as assigned.

Education & Experience:
* Ideal candidate would be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Communication, English, Journalism or a related field
Physical Requirements /Lifting Requirements:
Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation
Sedentary work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
