Salvation Army Northern Division Fargo Corps Social Services Manager

The Salvation Army Northern Division Fargo Corps Social Services Manager provides supervision to social services staff and programs. The Manager is also responsible for providing emergency assistance and providing a full range of case management services to Pathway of Hope (POH) participants. POH is responsible for providing targeted services to participants with a desire to break the cycle of crisis and enable a path out of intergenerational poverty.

$52,009 - $54,635 annually

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Essential Functions (approximate time spent)

  • Supervise social services programs (e.g., POH, emergency assistance, food shelf) and ensure fiscal responsibility (35%).
  • Conduct long-term strength-based, person-centered, holistic case management to POH participants (20%).
  • Provide program participants with direct assistance (e.g., foodshelf, Heatshare, vouchers) (10%).
  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate participant information in casefiles and through database entry and internally report relevant outcomes/successes (10%).
  • Assist with seasonal and special events (10%).
  • Recruit qualifying participants for POH and promote social services and corps programs with clients and throughout the community (5%).
  • Engage in internal and external activities to promote and further The Salvation Army and POH goals and objectives (5%).
  • Facilitate individual and group educational activities (5%).

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field. In lieu of degree, a combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • If degree is in social work, must be licensed by state board.
  • Previous social services experience with increasing responsibility required.
  • Previous staff supervision highly preferred.
  • Experience conducting long-term case management preferred.
  • Must pass background checks, possess valid driver's license, and meet MVR requirements.

Working Conditions

  • Mostly sedentary work, sitting for long periods of time and working on a computer.
  • Professional environment; eligible for a remote-friendly work environment.
  • Must be able communicate clearly in English.
  • Standard business hours with occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 20 pounds.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Provide supervision, mentorship, and training to the Social Services team of employees and volunteers. Make employment recommendations to Corps Officer.

Driving/Travel Requirements

Drive company car/van locally to support the mission. Rare out of town travel.
