- Key role in assessment and triage, using clinical judgement to prioritize care and support safe, efficient patient flow

- Monday-Friday 7:30a-7:30p
- Weekends 8a-5p
Answers patient inquiries over the telephone, assessing the severity of the patient’s symptoms and medical needs according to triage algorithms. Guides the patient to the appropriate level of care; schedules patient appointments over the phone with appropriate healthcare providers/facilities/physicians. Documents information provided to patients during triage in health record systems; records patients health conditions for follow-up patient care. Maintains and develops triage protocols;
ensures patients’ healthcare information is updated on time. Role does answer inquiries through multiple variations of technology, depending on department. Educate patients based on calls that come in.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, AACN, ACEN, NLN CNEA. Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
- One year of healthcare experience preferred.
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where practice occurs and/or multistate licensure if in an NLC state. Nurses practicing over the telephone require licensure in the states where patients reside. Within first 30 days of employment, all requirements to obtain license needed for role are completed.
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
