Seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant to partner with our four (4) Otolaryngologists and three (3) Nurse Practitioners within a very busy and fast-paced ENT and ENT Allergy Department. This high-volume team offers a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a challenging but rewarding role with the anticipation of growth, innovative, cutting-edge procedures and a wide variety of patients. Based at our South University Clinic in Fargo, ND, the NP/PA will work collaboratively with the physicians and their supportive staff.
- 1.0 FTE status;
Mon-Fri - Treat pediatric-adult outpatients/inpatients
- 15-20 patients per day per provider; procedures per day within department vary
- Call may be required with experience
- Strong collaborative and organizational skills required
- Ability to keep up with high-volume pace; skilled in assessment, prioritization, patient education and communication.
- First Assist in the OR.
- Duties include patient encounters both pre- & post-procedure and assuring accuracy/timeliness of admission & discharge orders. May eventually grow to include some procedural work based on department need.
- Outreach to Detroit Lakes, Park Rapids, and other potential sites (requires MN license and DEA)
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. The NP/PA will provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise.
Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing or Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
- New graduates will be considered.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate state (if NP)-North Dakota and Minnesota.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in appropriate state.
- Current certification in CPR
- Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
