The Day Unit is a 29‑bed unit that admits and discharges patients ages 17 and older. Patients cared for on this unit have scheduled elective surgical and interventional radiology. The care provided to patients is to safely prepare them prior to the scheduled procedure and discharge to home. The Broadway Day Unit is open Monday‑Friday from 5:00 am until the last patient discharges in the evening.
Responsibilities- Plans and coordinates patient care, assessment, education, triage and various other nursing interventions
- Collaborates with colleagues, including physicians, to implement and evaluate care plans
- Empathetically cares for patients during all stages of preventive services, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment and follow‑up along the continuum of care
- Demonstrates competency and uses comprehensive nursing expertise
Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possesses multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
