Areas of Responsibility
  • 0.8 FTE Position
  • Provide care to patients of all ages - children to geriatrics
  • Emergency Room consults, triage and medical care
  • Round, admit and manage health needs of patients with a significant range of complex and co-morbid disease conditions
  • Manage all inpatient care and provide prompt attention to all patients admitted to the hospital, including diagnosis, treatment, and the performance of medical procedures (within your scope of practice)
  • Collaborate and coordinate patient care with physicians, nursing, health care personnel, and care team members for patients in the hospital and ER
  • Employ quality and process improvement practices to make the hospital a safer place and improve patient outcomes

Responsibilities
  • Patient Care:
    Diagnose and treat medical conditions; develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Communication:
    Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams; foster a collaborative approach.

Location

Oakes, ND – a 20‑bed critical access hospital serving a community of approximately 1,800 residents.

Job Requirements
  • Graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Masters or Doctorate program
  • Have Emergency Room or Inpatient experience of 1 year or more, required
  • Board certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Hospital Medicine
  • ACLS, PALS, and ATLS or CALS certified
  • Have the qualification to successfully obtain an unrestricted Minnesota practice license and DEA
  • Interested in a shift-based condensed work schedule (Ten 24‑hour shifts = full-time)
  • Have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently
  • Demonstrate the ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing patient demographics and needs
