Responsible for providing direct care to patients and serving their needs in a manner conducive to safety and comfort, under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director (possibly with guidance from an LPN) to contribute to the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Duties vary by patient care unit/department and include: providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs, providing comfort care and other assistance, transferring patients safely, taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping, recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN, and maintaining a safe, clean environment to promote healing.

Works within job scope to meet requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies.

• Provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living under supervision of licensed staff.
• Assist with hygiene, nutrition, comfort care, transfers, vital signs, and documentation.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly report to the RN.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment to promote healing and safety.
• Adhere to Joint Commission and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Certified Nursing Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health preferred; if no CNA, must be registered as a Nurse Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health within three months of date of employment.

• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or ability to achieve certification within 1 month from date of hire.

Shift Rotation:
Evening Rotation

Shift Start/End: 3:00 pm/11:30 pm

Compensation Range: $17.63 - $26.45 / hour

FTE: 0.8

Weekends:
Every other weekend and holiday

Sign On Bonus: $1,500
