Job OverviewUtilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision‑making skills to provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. Works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. May care for patients ranging in age from newborn to 18.
Responsibilities- Provide health care to newborns through 18‑year‑old patients in the outpatient walk‑in setting.
- Collaborate with physicians and other health care professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Perform health assessments, diagnose, and manage common pediatric conditions.
- Educate patients and families on disease prevention, nutrition, and health maintenance.
- Document clinical findings and care in EPIC electronic medical record.
- 0.75 or 0.9 FTE (part‑time), with flexibility to choose between them.
- Walk‑in care hours:
Monday‑Friday 8:00 am–7:30 pm, Saturday 9:00 am–4:30 pm, Sunday 12:00 pm–4:30 pm. - Patient volume: 25–35 per 12‑hr shift.
- Weekends:
Every fourth weekend to be covered. - Holidays:
Covered. - Call Obligation:
None.
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nurse Practitioner or Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Physician Assistant program from an accredited institution.
- Training to care for all pediatric patients in a walk‑in‑care setting. Experience in Family Medicine, Walk‑in, Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine is preferred.
- Pediatric training and certification through PNCB or ANCC (PPCNP‑BC) is preferred.
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in the appropriate state.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the appropriate state.
- Current certification in CPR.
- National certification in applicable area.
- Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
Salary range: $57.42 – $80.39 per hour.
