Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a Level 1 trauma center, requiring travel experience and an active ND or Compact RN license.

• Active ND or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience required
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting (Level 1 trauma, 200+ beds) required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience working in a busy Level 1 trauma center required
• Must be willing and able to float to other Med/Surg units across multiple locations

• Acute care Surgical Inpatient Med/Surg unit within a Level 1 trauma center
• 32-bed unit caring for adult trauma, medical, and surgical patients with a range of needs including trauma and orthopedic trauma
• TJC-certified Hip Fracture Program unit
• Nurse to patient ratios of 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights
• 12-hour shifts with rotating day/night schedules based on unit needs; every other weekend and holiday required
• Self-scheduling available, though shifts may be adjusted to balance unit staffing needs
• Floating required to Medical Surgical units at Broadway, SMCF, and South University locations as needed
• Uses EPIC EMR and Acu Dose equipment
• Provide RN inpatient care including electronic documentation, assessments, and patient education
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Candidates must live outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Candidates living between 60 and 80 miles from the facility qualify for a reduced local travel rate
• Local candidates within 80 miles of the facility may be considered at a reduced rate
• Manager will conduct interviews directly prior to any offer
• Previous Sanford Health employment must be disclosed and must have ended at least 6 months prior to consideration
