Schedule / Job TypeContract | Day/Night Rotating, 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend | Every Other Holiday | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide nursing care for medically complex hematology and oncology patients, including administration of blood products, antibiotics, and management of symptoms and treatment side effects
- Perform comprehensive head-to-toe patient assessments and administer medications accurately and safely
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team and provide updates to patients and families
- If trained and credentialed, may be assigned to administer chemotherapy to applicable patients
- Utilize unit equipment including EPIC, Philips Care Monitors, glucometers, bladder scanners, language line, and Zebra phones
- Float to other medical-surgical units within the Fargo area as needed
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting (250+ beds)
- Experience in a busy Level 1 Trauma Center
- Active BLS certification – American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Active North Dakota RN license or compact state license (or willingness to obtain)
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
- Willingness to float to all medical-surgical units and locations within the Fargo area as needed
- Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates living between 60 and 80 miles may be subject to a local travel rate
- Prior travel nursing experience highly preferred
- Inpatient oncology experience strongly preferred
- Experience in hematology and/or bone marrow transplant (BMT) is a bonus
- Work within a structured oncology unit offering a thorough orientation program, including classroom training followed by dedicated unit training hours
- Nurse-to-patient ratios are maintained to support quality care, with no on-call requirements and no solo assignments
